Happy June 1st!
Lets rewind to about a a week ago...
Picture the Fonz & Lydia Deetz on a lovely afternoon outing to Long Beach,it was a celebration of two years..two crazy years of good and there's been downs. everything except for boring that is something we haven't been.
Definitely an adventure! no kids yet we are still learning from each other.
But there has been a lot of talk of going on vacation this October ...Paris is a big possibility, maybe even Manhattan New York ....Portland!
I'd like to visit the doll island...la isla de las munecas in Mexico very creepy looking just by looking at photos can you imagine seeing it in person?
Another place I've always wanted to explore is cat island Tashirojima in Japan. It's every cat lady's dream to go there.*silently weeps*
ANYWAY...Back to our little date
I packed for Long beach I got a new tote bag ain't it cute? I bought it at Bearded lady vintage in Burbank. And here are the things i can't leave the house without...sunscreen,glasses,my camera, voice recorder and plenty of pens and notepads.Since i'm always writing you never know when inspiration is going to strike,
Dinner consisted of Salad,Pasta and fries of course and to compliment it we got margaritas and beer.No pictures taken of the food or the drinks cause ..i guess fuck it once in awhile just eat the damn food and not take photos. Plus we were starving I didn't have time for that. But we were a little bummed out because the bar didn;t have pabst on tap.About a year ago we went to Chili;s in long Beach and their pabst was so delicious and so fresh.Something about the beer tasting better out there.
We sat there and ordered dessert to go,and plotted on finding the nearest cemetery.
To our luck we found one! Sunny side Cemetery 15 minutes away and best part ..opened 24 hours.
There was also a Goodwill near there.
We walked around the cemetery & held hands like creeps admiring how old the place looked and we came across this beautiful statue looks like something out of AFI's the art of drowning album cover don't it?
Most of the people that were buried in sunny side had past in the early 1900s so there graves looked abandoned like they hadn't had any visitors in years. It made me kinda sad
Sunny side is pretty but its one abandoned cemetery.
We are making plans on going back next month with flowers and to take more photos of the place.
Izzy & his silly smile..(he was a little buzzed) and he had just gotten a haircut that day.
We could've stayed there longer but it was getting pretty cold and I was wearing shorts so nope nope.
On our way home we passed by the beach and we sat in traffic and I took a nice little nap till we got home.
It was a relaxing little getaway.
got some cute shots with my polaroid. :)
Later on in the week Thursday came...And this was so last minute I saw my ex-co worker/friend's snap that her band was playing their first show at the old town pub or as we call it Jerry's bar because we pretty much go to hang out with Jerry who bartends there. As soon as i found out my pupils dilated and i texted izzy and he got a hold of meems within two hours we hauled ass to pasadena to see the bloody gypsys and reunite with an old friend.
They played an awesome set, there was some spanish angry songs, and a little bit of ..how can i describe it to you.
Think bikini kill meets babes in toyland but in spanish. It was so much fun and to see my friend rocking out and hearing her sing. It's like seeing a whole different side of her.
Anyways going to end this post by saying CHECK OUT THE BLOODY GYPSYS.AND TILL NEXT TIME.
